Stephen Martin graduated in law from Oxford University in 1976 and practised as a Barrister before joining the Club in 1982. He became a partner of the Club’s Management company in 1987, and subsequently Head of Claims, Head of the Americas, and head of underwriting.  From 2019 -2023 he was Chief Executive Officer. He is now a Senior Director.
