Rena Vegou

President - Argo Peramatos

My name is Irene (Rena) Vegkou, and I serve as President of the organization “Argo Peramatos,” a Social Cooperative Enterprise (KOINSEP) with multifaceted social, charitable, athletic, and cultural activities. Within the framework of its operation, the organisation systematically develops initiatives that support vulnerable social groups, strengthen social cohesion, and promote solidarity. Particular emphasis is placed on organizing cultural activities, through which our members engage with creative stimuli, fostering education, expression, and active participation.

At the same time, I hold the position of Director at the General Directorate for “Family and Child” of the international organization International Action Art, which operates in 72 countries, as well as within the UNESCO Piraeus and Islands Group.

In addition, for the past 20 consecutive years, I have been actively involved with the YMCA of Nikaia, where I serve as Head of the Dance Departments, contributing significantly to the artistic education and development of young people.

Academically, I hold two Master’s degrees in the fields of:
Marketing and Communication, and Leadership as an Innovative Approach to Organization and Management, while I am also a graduate of the Department of European Studies.

Throughout my professional and social career, I have been honored with more than twenty distinctions and awards for my contribution to society, including a special distinction at Wembley in London for my leadership skills.

I have also served as a member of numerous cultural and athletic organizations, while additionally holding the position of System Leader at the 1st Sea Scouts System of Perama. During my 17-year journey in Scouting, I was awarded the title of “Scout of the Nation,” which was presented to me at the Old Parliament House of Greece by the then President of the Hellenic Republic, Kostis Stephanopoulos.
