Polykarpos Yiannoudes

Founder and General Manager, UiBS

Polykarpos Yiannoudes was born in Limassol and spent a formative decade in Boston, where he completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Information Management at Harvard University, alongside an MA in Communication Industries Management and a BA in Mass Communication from Emerson College.
He is the Founder and General Manager of UIBS | Microsoft Cloud & AI Partner, a technology firm established in 1999 and specialised in licensing and the design and operation of mission – critical cloud platforms where system decisions have direct financial, operational, and governance consequences. UIBS solutions operate in environments requiring strict accountability, data sovereignty, cybersecurity, and continuous availability – conditions increasingly mirrored in maritime, port, and naval ICT systems.
Over more than two decades, Polykarpos has led executive and board  –  level technology programmes addressing cloud governance, AI  –  assisted decision  –  making, cyber risk, and human-in-the-loop control models. His work focuses on the legal and operational boundaries between automation and command authority, examining how responsibility is allocated when autonomous or semi  –  autonomous systems influence outcomes in regulated, high  –  risk domains.
Polykarpos currently serves as Acting President of the International Association of Microsoft Partners (IAMCP) for Cyprus and a member of the Cyprus University of Technology Industry Exchange Network (IXN). He also holds director and advisory roles in technology and non  –  profit organisations, contributing to cross  –  sector decisions.
As a moderator, he is recognised for guiding strategic, adversarial  –  quality dialogue between technologists, legal experts, regulators, and operational leaders—bridging the gap between what systems can do, what organisations allow them to do, and what the law ultimately holds humans accountable for.
