Experienced executive for the development of markets, products and services and distribution channel. Over 15 years experience in the commercial satellite business working with numerous verticals within land and maritime delivering effective products, services and solutions.

Commercial, Technical and regulatory experience:
– Instrumental in gaining recognition for the second recognised GMDSS provider at IMO, breaking a 20 year monopoly.
– Led team to develop the Iridium GMDSS production system for launch in 2020.
– Delivered the a global safety service with better coverage, improved capability and lower cost that can revolutionise maritime Search and Rescue.
– Drive commercial and marketing program including partner recruitment and support, sales training and marketing strategy (see YouTube Videos “Kyle Hurst+GMDSS”).
– Key role in development of Iridium Certus maritime products, providing direct liaison between engineering teams in America and Europe and ensuring development project stayed on track.

Satellite Communications Technology and Commercial Product Development experience:
– Responsible for Inmarsat’s global strategy for Lite Marine and Fisheries Market Development
– Project manager for the Commercial Development of the FleetBroadband 150
– Project manager for the Commercial Development of the Dynamic Telemetry Service (DTS)

Maritime & Fisheries Management, Enforcement and Communications experience:

– Management of large scale (regional) Fisheries Information Systems (including VMS)
