
Capt. Nikolaos Karimalis
Operation Manager - Hartman Holdings
Capt. Nikolaos P. Karimalis is an operations-focused Master Mariner with over three decades in shipping, from commanding deep-sea vessels of various types to leading shore-side performance, safety and digital initiatives for consulting, owning and management organisations. He currently serves as Operations Manager at Pelagic Partners & Hartmann Holdings, where he translates SOLAS/ISM/ISPS and ISO standards into day-to-day results and steering asset and data-driven KPIs operation results.
He contributes to the INTERCARGO Executive/Technical and Cyprus Shipping Chamber committees. Academically, he is a DBA candidate (University of West London) and PhD candidate (Liverpool John Moores University) with research centred on cyber security strategic management in maritime. He also holds an LLM in Maritime Law, MBA, MSc in Technical Ship Management, and a Diploma in Negotiations.
A frequent participant at regional and global forums and conferences, Capt. Nikolaos bridges bridge-deck practice, executive priorities and evidence-based research across digitalisation, maritime technology, management systems and the human element (despite being easily distracted when talks start drifting into running).
