Alexander Senteris is a Marine Engineer and Naval Architect, holding a diploma from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He also possesses a master’s degree in Technoeconomic Systems, with a specialization in energy policy and the multicriteria assessment of alternative marine fuels.
Currently pursuing his Ph.D., Senteris’s research focuses on Decarbonization Pathways and Strategic Decision-Making in the shipping industry, utilizing Multicriteria Assessment and Portfolio Management methodologies.
Professionally, Alexander is the Compliance Manager for emission trading systems and carbon compliance at Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement. In this role, he oversees the integration of a fleet of over 650 vessels into the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) and Fuel EU on a global scale. He is responsible for developing strategies to address compliance and decarbonization challenges at both regulatory and strategic levels. With extensive experience in the shipping and transportation industry, he has held various positions focused on fleet performance, energy efficiency, sustainability, innovation, decarbonization, and strategic planning.”
